The BJP State president, Mahendra Bhatt hailed the Supreme Court’s observation on the forest land encroachment in Vanbhulpura and said that this has raised hopes of freeing the State from the clutches of land encroachers. “The affected people will be rehabilitated as per the rules through PM Awas Yojana and other schemes,” he said.
Reiterating his party’s stance on Vanbhulpura encroachment, he said that the Illegal occupation would not be tolerated under any circumstances. “Currently, the case is pending in the Supreme Court and everyone is awaiting a final decision. However, the observations made by the learned judges in the hearings so far vindicate our stance on this issue. The land encroachment spree continued unchallenged for a long time under the indulgence of some parties. While the State government started complying with the High Court’s order to raze down encroachments in response to a suit filed by the Railways, some people moved the Supreme Court,” Bhatt noted.
“Though the Railways assured rehabilitation of the affected people, they were incited by some opposition parties to scuttle the Railways development plan. Even today, local Congress MLAs and leaders are providing legal assistance to the encroachers in court,” he said.
