Weekend traffic plan issued for June 13-14

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE / Dehradun
Dehradun police have formulated a special traffic management and diversion plan for June 13 and 14 in view of the expected weekend increase in vehicle movement towards Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Chakarata. Police said that weekend travels, school holidays, Char Dham Yatra, Hemkund Sahib Yatra, rafting activities in Rishikesh and heavy traffic on the new expressway are likely to increase substantially the pressure.
The traffic plan includes designated routes and diversion arrangements for vehicles travelling from Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and other states towards Mussoorie, Chakrata and Rishikesh. Additional police personnel have been deployed at major intersections, tourist spots and sensitive routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion.
Police also announced that candidates appearing for graduate-level recruitment examinations on June 14 will be exempted from diversion restrictions and given priority access to their examination centres. Citizens have been advised to follow traffic rules, use designated parking areas and cooperate with police to avoid inconvenience during the expected weekend rush.
