Women should strive for financial independence as it gives them confidence and freedom to shape their life on their own terms. 2010 batch IAS officer Sonika said this on International Women’s Day to motivate young women, particularly IAS aspirants.
Currently serving as the chief executive officer of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), Sonika has served in various positions including Dehradun’s district magistrate for over two years. She said, “Young women should be career-oriented and work towards excelling in their chosen fields. I firmly believe that financial independence empowers a woman to not only secure her own future but also support her loved ones. It is not just about stability but about the confidence and freedom that comes with financial independence.”
