Health secretary inspects facilities in disaster hit Dharali

On the orders of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar reached Dharali on Saturday. The officer took command of the relief and rescue operation and inspected the health services being provided to the disaster affected.
A total of 170 rescued people were evacuated to Matli helipad and 158 Chinyalisaur on Saturday. From there they were sent to their respective destinations after conducting their health check-up.
In Dharali, some of the female health workers tied Rakhi on the wrist of the secretary.
In his visit Kumar met the personnel of SDRF, NDRF and ITBP and praised their commitment and efforts. He also met the injured and ill people in Dharali and assured them that all the basic health facilities will be provided to them. The secretary also announced that a long term health plan will be prepared for this area so that health services are maintained during disaster like situations.
Kumar said that the Health department has deployed many teams of specialist doctors from Chinyalisaur to Dharali which are engaged in health check-up and treatment of people round the clock.
Director Medical Health, Garhwal region Dr CP Triparthi, chief medical officer Dr BMS Rawat, state nodal officer Dr Bimlesh Joshi and others accompanied the secretary.
