Eight new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Eight new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Monday.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that out of the eight new cases which were reported on Monday, four patients were reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital two at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and two at Graphic Era Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 237, which includes 119 cases from Dehradun itself and 118 cases from other districts and States.

Currently, there are 20 active dengue patients receiving treatment. Among these, 11 are at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, four at Graphic Era Hospital, one at AIIMS Rishikesh and two are being treated at home. On Monday, health officials collected a total of 125 dengue samples, bringing the cumulative number of tested samples to 12,808.

Additionally, on Monday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and volunteers from the health department conducted 10,781 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 193 homes. So far, the health department has completed a total of 12,21,604  household surveys, with 8,590 yielding positive results. ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 74168 containers on Monday and discovered that 254 of them contained larvae. Overall, they have examined 81,30,535 containers, with 11629 testing positive for larvae.
