1,640 Uttarakhand police personnel promoted in two years

The Uttarakhand police headquarters has promoted 15 sub-inspectors from the civil police and intelligence branches to the rank of inspector, officials said. In total, 1,640 officers and employees from different branches of the Uttarakhand police have been promoted during the past two years.
According to the police headquarters, 2025 and 2026 have been important for departmental promotions. More than 1,000 police personnel were promoted in 2025, while 580 personnel have received promotions so far this year. The promoted personnel belong to various branches, including civil police, intelligence, armed police, telecommunications and fire services. In 2026, promotions were given to 13 deputy superintendents of police (Junior Scale), two deputy superintendents of police (Ministerial), 26 Inspectors, 144 sub-inspectors, 63 additional and assistant sub-inspectors, and 332 head constables.
Director general of police Deepam Seth congratulated all the promoted officers and personnel. He said that timely promotions help increase the morale of the police force and improve its efficiency. He also appreciated the efforts of the Home department, Personnel department and police headquarters staff for completing the promotion process on time.
