PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
Before entering Dehradun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi first offered prayers at the Dat Kali Mandir on the UP-Uttarakhand border. He also appreciated a group of girls who chanted the Mahishasurmardini Stotra on the occasion. Temple Sewadar Gaurav Kumar informed that the PM arrived at 12:10 PM. He was informed about the history of the temple by the priests. After offering special prayers, he met the Mahant Raman Prasad Goswami. According to Kumar, the PM said that he had experienced spiritual peace and a unique power on visiting the temple, adding that he will always remember the time he had spent here. The UP governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi Adityanath and others were also present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that while Dat Kali Mandir is popular among Doonites, those passing by the highway also pay obeisance to the goddess at the shrine adjoining the highway.
