In latest news from Dehradun, The Oasis hosted the first edition of The Oasis Intellectual Pulse on two days recently. The organisers of the event said that it was meant to celebrate literature and provide a platform to the learners to share knowledge and work on developing their collaborative learning skills through engagement in stimulating discussions. They further informed that the literary festival featured a diverse range of events-debates, extempore short story writing and poetry writing. Six schools from Dehradun and Mussoorie participated in the event. While psychologist and English teacher Annie Singh was the guest of honour on the first day, poet, filmmaker and communication consultant Vineet Panchhi was the same on the second day. Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie won the debate and bagged the trophies for both ‘Debating’ as well as the ‘Winner of the Event’. The director and head of the school Sanjiv Bathla said that the festival’s objective of creating a sense of literary enrichment had been met.
