Thunderstorms & hail likely in 7 districts, rain & snowfall in 5 districts

The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and hail likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun and Tehri districts on Friday. The meteorological centre has further forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of the State today. Very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining mountainous regions of the State. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur in the area. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Thursday were 28.8 degrees Celsius and 12.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.1 degrees Celsius and 6.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.6 degrees Celsius and 8.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Very light rain was reported in some areas with one millimetre each in Ghanghariya and Liti.
