Mahara said that the Pithoragarh MLA Mayukh Mahar was forced to undertake an agitation on the issues of the public interest. He said that the daring daylight robbery in a jewellery showroom in Dehradun on Thursday has exposed the pathetic law and order situation in the State. He said that the robbery occurred at the time when the President was in the city. Mahara said that even a day after the daring heist , the police are still grappling in dark in the case. The PCC president said that the sensational dacoity shows prevailing jungle Raj in the State. He said that action should be taken against the top officers of the police for showing laxity in preventing crime. He said that the State police has failed in ensuring safety of women and common man. Mahara said that the criminals are out of the reach of the police. He said that the police have also failed to know the VIP involved in the murder of Ankita Bhandari case.
