72 new CNG buses to operate on 10 routes

In latest news from Dehradun, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) is all set to operate 72 new buses that will operate on 10 routes across the State. The transport officers said that these new buses will hit the roads in the new years under the intercity bus plan 2023-24. For this, the department has sought tenders. Sharing details, the general manager, (operations) UTC Deepak Jain said that the new buses will cover short distances and the CNG 32-seater buses will be preferred. The general applicants are to deposit Rs 50,000 as security while the deposit amount is Rs 25,000 for those who will apply under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Tourism Self-employment Scheme. After things are finalised, the bus owners must start the operation in 90 days and in case they fail they will have to pay Rs 500 as fine.
