The Nainital district administration directed the education department on Wednesday to identify all children who were studying in the madarsa that was allegedly built illegally in Haldwani’s Vanbhulpura area. The authorities demolished the madarsa on February 8 under an anti- encroachment drive that led to violence in the area in which seven people were killed and over 100 sustained injuries.
The additional district magistrate of Nainital PR Chauhan ordered the chief education officer on Wednesday to prepare a list of children who were registered in the madarsa and ensure that they are admitted to the nearest school. The curfew is still in force in the Vanbhulpura area following the riots but the officials concerned must make the list soon to ensure children’s studies are not affected and they can be admitted to nearby schools soon after the curfew is lifted.
The ADM directed the education officer to make the list in coordination with the city magistrate of Haldwani in the ongoing curfew as per the rules.
Administration deploys doctors in Haldwani’s Vanbhulpura

Specialist doctors were deployed in the health centre of Haldwani’s Vanbhulpura area on Wednesday following the orders of Nainital district magistrate Vandana Singh. They were deployed to give medical treatment to pregnant women and children in the curfew affected area.
The zonal magistrate of the Vanbhulpura area AP Vajpayee said that a team of paediatricians, gynaecologists and obstetricians were deployed in the centre. Besides this, the team of the National Child Health Programme was also present in the health centre to provide all possible care to women and children. He also informed that the pathology facility has also been started in the centre.
The administration is also supplying all necessary materials and medicines to the locals there. Other necessary steps will be taken as per the requirement, Vajpayee added
