Excessive radiation can cause brain tumour: Dr Raju

VIMS hospital of the Sri Venkateshwara group and VIG Meerut jointly organised an event on World Brain Tumour Day on the weekend. Noted surgeon Dr IB Raju spoke on the reasons for brain tumour, its symptoms and the treatment in detail. He said that excessive radiation, indiscriminate use of electromagnetic equipment and western lifestyles are major causes of brain tumour. It can be treated effectively if diagnosed in the early stages. He also advised the youth to avoid excessive use of mobile phones and to avoid using the mobile phone till late in the night. Addressing the gathering, mental health expert Dr Ravimohan Sharma said that out of more than 10 lakh patients of brain tumour in the world, about 50,000 patients die each year from this ailment. Raju and mental health expert Dr Ravimohan Sharma were felicitated for their contribution to mental health on the occasion. The founding chairman of the Sri Venkateshwara Group, Sudhir Giri said that Venkateshwara is working consistently towards the ‘Swastha Bharat- Ayushman Bharat’ vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
