Taking strong exception to the statement of the chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Ajendra Ajay in which he had referred to the Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand as an agent of Congress party, the Uttarakhand Congress has said that Ajay has hurt the sentiments of crores of followers of the Shankaracharya.
The chief spokesperson of State Congress Garima Dasauni said that Ajay’s comment in which he has questioned the status of Avimukteshwaranand as Shankaracharya is unfortunate, deplorable and intolerable. She said that the Shankaracharya is touring the country for protecting the cow and propagating Hinduism and in the recent marriage of Mukesh Ambani, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sought his blessing by touching his feet.
Dasauni said that Ajay has stoked controversies ever since he became the chairman of the BKTC. She said that his role in seeking donation from QR code, master plan of Badri Kedar and rights of Teerth Purohits has always been under scanner. Dasauni added that Ajay’s comment referring Shankaracharya as an agent of Congress party shows his mental level. “Ajay should understand that Avimukteshwarnand is one among the four Shankaracharyas and he is a respected Shankaracharya of the Jyotish peeth. He is not a self professed Shankaracharya of RSS or any ancillary organisations of BJP,’’ she said.
Dasauni added that the BJP should clear its stand on the statement of Ajay.
She appealed to the Teerth Purohits, Shankaracharyas and religious leaders to get united to teach such elements a lesson for the insult of Shankaracharya.
