The Uttarakhand Congress started the Kedarnath Pratishta Raksha Yatra from Har Ki Paidi in Haridwar on Wednesday. The Yatra led by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara will cover the distance between Haridwar and Kedarnath on foot in 13-14 days. The Yatra started with Mahara and other leaders offering prayers at Har Ki Paidi.
Mahara thanked the party workers and leaders for coming out in large numbers for the Yatra. He said that the Congress party will expose the lies of the State BJP government during the Yatra. He said that the Congress will destroy the propaganda unleashed by the ruling BJP on Kedarnath in the Yatra. Mahara said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself laid the foundation stone of the Kedarnath Dham temple in Buradi of Delhi and a Shila (stone) was transported from Kedarnath to Buradi for the ceremony. He said that despite the claims of the government the Kedarnath Dham Trust Delhi is still seeking donations from the general public for construction of Kedarnath temple in Delhi.
Former CM Harish Rawat was also present at the start of the Yatra. He said the Yatra is an attempt by the Congress party to create public awareness on the misdeeds of the BJP.
