Maharaj launches, lays foundation stones of 20 projects in Rudraprayag

The State’s PWD and tourism minister Satpal Maharaj inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a host of development projects worth over Rs 28 crore for areas which fall under the Assembly constituency limits of Kedarnath and Rudraprayag on Wednesday. While nine projects were inaugurated the foundation stones were laid for 11 projects during the minister’s one-day Rudraprayag district visit.
Addressing the gathering, Maharaj said that the State government is committed to all-round development of Uttarakhand. “We are leaving no stone unturned in this matter, “ he said and added that they had launched rescue and relief operations once they were informed of the rain-triggered disaster having occurred on the Kedarnath yatra route. “We rescued 15,000 pilgrims and locals,” he said.
He further said that a separate Yatra authority was being constituted to facilitate better –organised Char Dham Yatra, Nanda Rajjat Yatra and Kanwar Yatra.
