Venkateshwara University felicitates women power

Shri Venkateshwara University and the Women Welfare department of Uttar Pradesh Government hosted jointly Venkateshwara Veerangana Samman Samaroh 2024 on Tuesday to mark the centenary of the Kakori train action which refers to the loot of the British treasury at Kakori station by the revolutionaries to shore up funds for the freedom movement. During the event, a number of accomplished women from the fields of education, art, literature, sports, nursing, medicine, police and administration were felicitated.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the chairman of the Venkateshwara Group of Institutions Sudhir Giri and the pro-chancellor of Shri Venkateshwara University Rajeev Tyagi.
Addressing the programme, Giri said that respect for the brave and accomplished women had been an important part of the country’s sanatani culture. In his address, Tyagi said that they felt proud to honour those women who have done remarkable works in different fields
