Today’s age belongs to artificial intelligence and robotics: governor

The governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh has said that today’s age is of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) and we should move forward with modern techniques while preserving our cultural heritage. He was addressing the fourth convocation ceremony of the Quantum University in  Roorkee on Saturday.  Singh said that the university has made special arrangements for AI in its campus which is a good step for the students. The governor exhorted the students to become job creators instead of job seekers.

 He asked the students to make their own identity in the real world away from the books. Singh said that the students should have innumerable dreams and asked them to work hard to fulfil the dreams. He also advised the students to focus on specialisation and said that they should remain away from the drugs. He said that learning is a constant and continuous process and we should be a learner throughout our life. The governor also asked the students to constantly upgrade their communication skills.

The governor gave away medals, the presidency medal for all round performance and degrees to the students in the ceremony.  Expressing happiness at the higher number of girls receiving medals, the governor termed it as an example of women empowerment. He said that women are moving forward in every field in the country.

The vice chancellor Vivek Kumar, MLA Pradeep Batra, Mamta Rakesh, the founder of the university Shyam Sunder Goyal, teachers and students attended the ceremony.
