In latest news from Doon, the PWD facing flaks for continuing accidents in the city’s nerve centre Clock Tower area due a number of speed breakers being built there. They are facing the fire of the Opposition Congress whose leaders are slamming the department’s inefficiency for the speed breaker-triggered public inconveniences and even accidents. A video on this matter has become viral on the social media, escalating the criticism against the department.
Stung repeatedly, the PWD finally woke up from its somnolence and its brass is now in an action mode. The secretary PWD Pankaj Pandey asked the chief engineer of the department to explain at whose directive the engineer concerned had allowed construction of speed breakers in the area.
