Students meet VC on hiked mess rates in KU hostels

A delegation of students met the vice- chancellor of Kumaun University, Prof Diwan Singh Rawat and submitted a memorandum regarding the increased mess rates in the hostels. Notably, the university started the tender process for running the mess in the hostels while the renovation work in the hostels is yet to be completed. The VC told the students the tendering process had started last year and the charge for each meal had been increased by Rs 3, adding that the students would not be charged the GST from the new session.
