IIT Roorkee conducts flags ceremony for Yuva Sangam

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT, Roorkee) hosted the flag-off ceremony for Yuva Sangam Phase V on Wednesday. This initiative is part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme which aims to promote cross-cultural understanding among the youth from various regions of the country. During the ceremony, the nodal officer M V Sunil Krishna provided an overview of the Yuva Sangam initiative, emphasising its role in fostering unity and national integration.
Further, the dean of students’ welfare Barjeev Tyagi highlighted the importance of youth engagement in the nation-building process. “Yuva Sangam offers a unique platform for students to connect with their peers, embrace diversity and strengthen bonds across the nation. It truly represents the spirit of unity in diversity,” he said.
The event also featured inspiring poetry from a Yuva Sangam participant.
The director, IIT Roorkee, K K Pant underscored the institute’s commitment to promoting national unity through cultural exchange and youth empowerment. He exhorted the participants to serve as cultural ambassadors by showcasing Uttarakhand’s rich traditions and heritage in Jharkhand. “At IIT Roorkee, we are proud to help shape leaders who are not just technologically skilled but socially responsible,” he said in his address.
