Congress questions proposed NDUSSL board meeting in jail

PNS | DEHRADUN

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni has expressed surprise at the decision to hold a board meeting of the Nainital Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh Limited (NDUSSL) inside the jail premises.

She said that the NDS had sought permission to hold its board meeting in Haldwani jail since its chairperson Mukesh Bora has been jailed in it for the past four months, and the permission was granted. Dasauni said that after keeping the police on its toes for about a month, Bora was arrested in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh on charges of raping a minor and her mother. She said that apart from being head of NDUSSL, Bora is an influential leader of the ruling party.

Dasauni said that the law and order situation in the State has derailed completely. She said the incident involving Khanpur MLA and former MLA has defamed the State. Dasauni added the former MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ had convened a Mahapanchayat outside the jail on January 29 which will escalate things further.
