The Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the actions of Congress leaders in Haldwani are an extension of the anarchic politics encouraged by the leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi.
Responding to questions asked by the media, Bhatt said that the Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge’s Uttarakhand visit, the senior party leaders of the party indulged in questionable behaviour and used objectionable language, which is highly condemnable. The Congress should apologise to people of Uttarakhand for these actions and take disciplinary action against those involved in this incident. “Considering the shameful behaviour during the visit of the Congress national president, it appears as if there is no respect they have for their senior leaders, no democratic principles or political decorum.
The behaviour of Congress leaders of the State was not sudden. It was a result of the political values being communicated by the party’s top leadership to the party workers. From the parliament to the road, Rahul Gandhi has shredded democratic decorum. He actually staked his post as the leader of opposition to participate in a protest outside the residence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Bhatt said.
