Kickboxing Championship to boost its prospects internationally: Rajeev Tyagi

Following the inauguration of the 4th International Open WAKO Kickboxing Championship-2025 at Indira Gandhi Sports Stadium, New Delhi, the national vice-president of Kickboxing Federation of India (affiliated to Union Sports Ministry) Rajeev Tyagi who is also the pro-chancellor of Shri Venkateshwara University informed that over 2,000 top players from 22 countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Croatia, Estonia, Australia, UAE, Finland, Kazakhstan, Russia and Switzerland, are participating in junior, sub- junior and senior categories of the four-day championship which would go on till February 6.
He further said that the chairperson of the World Kickboxing Federation and eminent boxer Roy Baker was among those who inaugurated the championship. The Sports ministers and diplomats of many participating countries might be present at the closing ceremony, he added. He expressed the hope that kickboxing would enter the Olympic Games as an event soon.
