In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Haldwani police took 65 people into their custody under the Operation Romeo and Rs 19,500 was collected from them by way of fines. Police shared that a number of teams led by the SP Prakash Chandra launched the drive at several places, including Avas Vikas Colony, Transport Nagar, Mandi, Subhas Nagar and Nainital Road.
They further said that the drive would continue with full force in the coming days to ensure security of the women while appealing to the people to maintain peace in public places.
