Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the situation of heavy rainfall in various districts from the State Emergency Operation centre on Friday. He sought detailed information about the rainfall in the districts and area-wise situation from the district magistrates concerned.

He directed the officials to act with utmost seriousness and caution on the warnings and forecasts issued by the Meteorological department in the coming days. He said that in view of the possibility of heavy rainfall and landslides, necessary arrangements should be ensured in advance in sensitive areas, so that there is no delay in relief and rescue operations in case of any emergency. The CS asked the DMs to provide prompt compensation to the affected families as per the prescribed standards and to immediately provide all necessary resources in the disaster affected areas.

He also emphasized on providing timely information to the general public and directed the officers to run a campaign to promote the ‘Sachet App’, so that more and more people can get timely updated information related to the weather.
