Students raise concern over alleged UKSSSC exam paper leak

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

Many students preparing for competitive exams in Dehradun have expressed concerns about the controversy surrounding the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) examination, which took place on Sunday. This issue is particularly relevant as it is being alleged while the commission is refuting the allegations regarding the graduate-level Patwari exams.

Screenshots of three pages from the question paper were shared with a person about half an hour after the examination began. However, both the commission and officials concerned have stated that these images cannot be called a leak. This situation has heightened anxiety among the students who are currently studying for competitive exams.

Student Shubham Kothari expressed his strong belief that the recent incident points towards a leak of the question paper for the graduate-level Patwari exams. He opined that the authorities are merely issuing false statements.

The apparent leak suggests a lack of security by both the State government and the commission during the examination process. This is not an isolated occurrence, as similar leaks have happened in recent years, notably with the UKSSSC exam, he averred. Kothari questioned why other competitive exam papers do not face similar issues. Such incidents demoralise students like him who are diligently preparing for competitive exams. To address this situation, he believes that the only option left for the students was to protest.

Muskaan (name changed) voiced similar concerns and opined that the authorities’ claim of no paper leak is untrue. She is convinced that the examination paper was leaked, as it has been circulated on social media. Incidents like this instill fear and dishearten students like her, suggesting that those who genuinely study hard will end up at a disadvantage. She said that students can resort to protest and escalate their efforts till the situation is rectified.

“I am extremely disappointed to hear about the recent incident. As I am also preparing for competitive examinations, such news discourages me as a student. I believe a thorough investigation should be conducted in these cases and the examination in question should be administered again,” stated another student Kiran (name changed).
