Uttarakhand police officers receive President’s medals on Republic Day

On the occasion of Republic Day 2026, the President Droupadi Murmu announced prestigious medals for officers and personnel of the Uttarakhand Police for their outstanding service. Inspector General of Police Yogendra Singh Rawat has been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. He is currently posted as Inspector General, Personnel and Headquarters. The award recognises his long and distinguished service in the police department.
The Medal for Meritorious Service has been given to officers from both police and Fire Service. Deputy superintendent of police Prabodh Kumar Ghildiyal from Rudraprayag and deputy superintendent of police Shivraj Singh from Champawat are among the awardees. Inspector Jyoti Chauhan from the Vigilance Establishment in Dehradun, Inspector Subhash Chandra from the Intelligence headquarters, and additional sub-inspector Sajid Ali from Police Headquarters have also been honoured.
From the Fire Service, leading fireman Girish Chandra Lohni and leading fireman Mukesh Kumar Pokhariyal, both posted in Dehradun, have received the medal for their commendable service.
