PRSI Dehradun marks National Public Relations Day

The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Dehradun chapter organised a seminar on the importance of public relations in democracy here on Tuesday to mark National Public Relations Day.
During the event, the HUDCO regional head Sanjay Bhargava said that public relations extends beyond governance and administration; it also plays a vital role in family and social interactions. He underscored the importance of responsible communication, especially in an age with numerous communication channels.
Chapter president and deputy director of the Information department, Ravi Bijarnia highlighted that public relations serves as a crucial link between the government and the public in a democracy. He emphasised that effective public relations fosters dialogue, which builds trust and nurtures hope in society. Chapter secretary Anil Sati spoke about the activities and objectives of PRSI.
Member Manita Hari stressed on the importance of being vigilant against challenges such as fake news and deep fakes. The speakers collectively emphasised the positive, authentic and effective nature of public relations, describing it as a powerful medium for serving both the nation and society at institutional and personal levels.
