Land will be identified in the area under the purview of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) for developing affordable housing projects under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0. This decision was taken in the meeting of the urban local body level executive committee chaired by Dehradun municipal commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey on Tuesday.
He directed MCD officials to ensure transparent and time-bound implementation of the PMAY-U 2.0 and prioritise eligible beneficiaries under the scheme. Reviewing applications received under the Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC) component, he directed the deputy municipal commissioner Tanvir Marwah to carry out re-verification and scrutiny of 105 applications.
These applications had earlier been shortlisted on the basis of physical verification, local inspection reports and recommendations made by the committee constituted at the MCD. The exercise aims to ensure that only genuine and eligible beneficiaries receive assistance under the scheme. The officials were also instructed to maintain transparency in the implementation process and ensure that benefits reach eligible and needy families.
Members of the urban local body level executive committee also discussed measures and suggestions for the effective and transparent implementation of the housing scheme.
