The vice president of Uttarakhand State Higher Education Development Committee Devendra Bhasin has said that as per the Uttarakhand Private Universities Act- 2023 which came into force in January 2024, the children of the residents of Uttarakhand should get concession in tuition fee and they should also get the benefit of reservation in different courses.
He said that a provision of 25 per cent concession in tuition fee for the residents of the State has been made in the act. Similarly, 23 per cent seats in different courses in the private universities of the State are reserved for the residents of the State.
On a stern note, Bhasin said that the State government is sensitive to ensure that every eligible resident of the State gets the benefit of fee concession and reservation. He averred that the interests of the children of the residents of the State will be protected.
