Five women, who had lost their way in a dense forest near Laxman Siddh Temple in the Harrawala area of Dehradun, were safely rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Tuesday evening. Notably, upon receiving information that the women had entered the forest and were unable to find their way back, an SDRF team, led by the head constable Shailendra Rawat, reached the spot and started a search operation with the help of the local police and the Forest department staff.
The rescue team walked nearly 12 kilometres inside the forest through the challenging terrain, and finally the team found all five women safe.
They were escorted out of the forest by the SDRF team and later handed over to the Harrawala police outpost.
