The Dehradun police on Thursday held a coordination meeting with officials from different government departments to review preparations for the upcoming Kanwad Yatra starting from July 30. They discussed traffic management, diversion plans, parking, crowd control, emergency services and security arrangements at sensitive places.
The meeting was held at the transit camp in Rishikesh on the instructions of the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobal. Officials from the police, municipal corporation, Public Works Department (PWD), Jal Sansthan, Electricity department, Fire Service and other departments attended the meeting. They discussed traffic management and security arrangements at sensitive places. All departments were directed to complete their work on time and remain fully prepared for any emergency during the Yatra. Officials stressed that devotees should get a safe, smooth and well-organised environment during the Kanwad Yatra. After the meeting, senior police officers and other officials inspected the Kanwad Mela area to review the preparations on the ground and ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed before the fair begins.
