Cool rainy days followed by hot humid days continue in State

Intermittent monsoon showers continue to provide brief relief from the heat though the temperatures in Dehradun and other parts of the State remain a few notches above normal.
The State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Champawat districts on Saturday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts. Apart from this, the State is forecast to witness light to moderate rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience a partly cloudy sky today. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.Meanwhile, Dehradun and other parts of the State witnessed above normal temperatures on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Dehradun were 33.1 degrees Celsius and 23.5 degrees Celsius respectively, the maximum being three degrees above normal. The maximum temperature was two degrees above normal in Pantnagar at 34.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 24.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 20.1 degrees Celsius and 14.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Mukteshwar and 23.2 degrees Celsius and 15.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
