Experts discuss dam safety at UJVN Limited

A meeting of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) was held at the headquarters of the UJVN Limited on Monday. In the meeting the progress of statutory activities under the Dam Safety Act, 2021 was reviewed.
The meeting was chaired by, member, Policy and Research, NDSA (Ministry of Jal Shakti) Pramod Narayan.
The director, Operations, UJVNL, GS Budiyal said that the objective of the meeting was to expedite the completion of comprehensive dam safety evaluations, risk assessments, emergency action plans, and other time-bound statutory obligations. Officers of UJVNL, THDC Limited, SJVN, Renew Jal Urja Private Limited, Alaknanda Hydro-Power Company Limited and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited participated in the meeting.
Detailed discussions on progress and challenges related to seven dams of UJVN, two dams of THDC India Limited, two dams of SJVN Limited, one dam of Renew Jal Urja Private Limited, one dam of JPVL and one dam of Alaknanda Hydro Power Company Limited were in the meeting.
