National Lok Adalat slated in Dehradun district on Sept 12

A national Lok Adalat will be organised in the Dehradun district on September 12, as per the directions from the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital. The secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Dehradun, Seema Dungrakoti has appealed to the citizens and litigants of the district to take full advantage of the National Lok Adalat.
She informed that during the National Lok Adalat, negotiable criminal cases, cases under Section 138 of the NI Act, motor accident compensation cases, bank loan and recovery cases, matrimonial disputes, labour and civil cases, electricity and water-related cases and other negotiable cases will be resolved expeditiously on the basis of mutual consent. “Interested parties can submit their applications in person or through their advocates at the concerned court by September 11,” she said.
Dungrakoti further said that cases are resolved through the National Lok Adalat in a simple, quick and cordial atmosphere. “This process saves time and money of the parties concerned; eligible cases may also benefit from a refund of court fees. The decisions made by the Lok Adalat are final and binding on both parties,” she stated.
She further emphasised that the National Lok Adalat as an alternative justice system is not only a means of resolving cases but also an effective platform for promoting mutual dialogue, reconciliation and social harmony.
