The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday stated that it will launch a statewide membership campaign from August 11 ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. They said that the campaign aims to strengthen its organisational network up to the district, Assembly, block, Nyaya Panchayat and booth levels.
AAP state president Uma Sisodia said that the party would reach out to youth, women, farmers, workers, employees, traders and other sections of society through door-to-door campaigns, membership camps, public interactions.
She said that the party’s “Mission 2027” was not limited to winning elections but aimed at establishing “honest, transparent and accountable politics” in the State. The party will raise issues including unemployment, corruption, migration, education, healthcare, inflation, women’s safety and basic infrastructure.
AAP has directed its district and Assembly-level office bearers to conduct the membership drive in “mission mode” and regularly review its progress. She said that special plans would also be prepared to expand its organisational network across Uttarakhand.
Sisodia appealed to citizens, particularly youth, women, teachers, employees, farmers, ex-servicemen and traders, to join the campaign and participate in what the party described as a positive political change in Uttarakhand.
