Uttarakhand State Sports University receives 260 applications so far for 2026-27 session

Uttarakhand State Sports University registrar Rashika Siddiqi said that the university has so far received approximately 260 applications for the 2026-27 academic year. The admission process is ongoing and the number of applications is expected to increase in the coming days.
She informed that the university offers three four-year undergraduate courses for XII-grade students. These programmes include the Bachelor of Sports Science, Bachelor of Sports Management (Honors with Research) and Bachelor in Sports Journalism, with each course having 40 seats. There is no age limit for admission to these courses. She said that fees for the UG courses have been set at Rs 28,700 per semester. The application fee is Rs 1,000 for general and OBC categories, while it is Rs 500 for SC, ST, PWD and EWS candidates.
Siddiqui also added that the university offers a one-year diploma in sports coaching programme, which includes specialisations in badminton, hockey, taekwondo, karate, swimming, basketball, ice sports, football and boxing. She said that 20 seats have been allocated for each sport. Admission to the diploma course requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and experience in nationally or internationally recognised sports competitions. The fee for this course is set at Rs 45,100 per year, she said.
The registrar added that according to the university’s admission schedule, August 19 is the last date for submitting applications.
The university’s inauguration ceremony is scheduled for August 29, with the academic session beginning on September 1. The last date for fee submission is August 31 and admissions will be available until September 15 for a late fee of Rs 500.
The registrar emphasised that alongside academic studies, the university will place special emphasis on practical and experimental training in sports, ensuring that students gain valuable field experience.
