Motherhood University, Roorkee celebrated the festivals of Lohri and Makar Sakranti in the university campus on Thursday with full religious fervor and gaiety.
Vice chancellor of the university Prof Dr Narendra Sharma and Director Admin Deepak Sharma greeted the students on the momentous occasion. Dr Sharma explained to the children about the importance of the two festivals. He laid stress on the importance on having cordial relationship with nature.
“While makar sakranti symbolizes worship of sun god, the lohri calls for welcome of the new harvest”, Dr Sharma observed.
