Covid-19 vaccination: More than 1 lakh vaccinated in U’khand
103852 health care workers and front line workers have received the jabs of Covishield. 49 new patients, two deaths reported on Friday
With more than one lakh beneficiaries so far, the vaccine war against the contagion of the Covid-19 in Uttarakhand launched on January 16 appears to be on the right track. A total of 103852 health care workers and front line workers have received the jabs of Covishield, the vaccine of the disease. On Friday a total of 6434 health care workers and the front-line workers were vaccinated.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that a total of 1938 vaccine sessions have so far been held in the state and in them 103852 people have been vaccinated.
In view of the upcoming Kumbh fair more vaccine sessions are being held in Haridwar. On Friday 27 sessions were held in Haridwar in which 1535 front line workers and 338 healthcare workers were vaccinated.
In Dehradun 16 sessions were held in which 694 front line workers and 438 health care workers received vaccine jabs.
Meanwhile the number of patients of Covid-19 increased to 9672 in the state on Friday with the state health department reporting 49 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of two patients from the disease which increased the death toll to 1678 in the state. The authorities discharged 63 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Friday. A total of 93013 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.17. One patient of the disease each was reported dead at Sushila Tiwari Government hospital, Haldwani and Max hospital Dehradun on Friday.
The health department reported 23 new patients of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 11 from Haridwar, six from Nainital, four from Udham Singh Nagar, two from Chamoli and one each from Champawat, Pauri and Tehri districts on Friday. No new patients of the disease were reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts on Friday.
The state now has only 648 active patients of the disease. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 123 patients. Nainital has 99, Almora 82, Bageshwar 56, Dehradun 60, Udham Singh Nagar 54, Pithoragarh 43, Pauri 31, Chamoli 28, Tehri 24, Rudraprayag 19, Champawat 15 and Uttarkashi 14 active cases of the disease
