The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana himself shifted a serious patient of Covid-19 to hospital. On hearing about a patient of Covid 19 in the Nehru Colony area Dhasmana wearing a PPE kit arrived with an ambulance and shifted the patient to Arogyadham hospital.
The Congress leader is president of a social organisation Devbhoomi Manav Sansadhan Vikas Trust which has set up an oxygen bank for the Covid patients. Dhasmana said that the pace of contagion of Covid 19 is showing no sign of slowing down and now the infection is spreading to the rural areas. He said that the health system is not able to bear the increasing load of patients.
“The biggest challenge is that the patients are dying due to non availability of oxygen. The government should work on a war footing to address the issue. Our trust is making efforts to increase the capacity of the oxygen bank,’’ he said.
