Kartarpur Sahib corridors reopen, Sikh pilgrims visit the holy shrine

The corridors of Kartarpur Sahib opened on Wednesday. The holy shrine which connects Dera Baba Nanak in India’s Gurdaspur district to Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan’s Narowal district have been seeing Sikh pilgrims visiting to pay their respects. The pilgrims are allowed to cross the visa free border after getting a green light from India. The corridors which got closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic have reopened to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

A 21-member delegation of Bhartiya Janta Party ( BJP ) leaders from Punjab has entered Pakistan and is the first delegation to visit the holy shrine. Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, along with his political higher ups will also pay visit. Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is also expected.
