Doon DM holds meeting amid rising Covid-19 cases

Dehradun district magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar held a meeting on Wednesday amid the rising Covid-19 cases in the state. The chief secretary of Uttarakhand, SS Sandhu on a video conferencing directed all the district magistrates including the commissioner of Garhwal and Kumaun to provide medical infrastructural facilities in their respective circles and districts. Kumar instructed the chief medical officer and concerned officers to keep all the Covid-related facilities active in all Community Health Centers (CHC) and Primary Health Center (PHC) hospitals of the district and increase contact tracing and RT-PCR testing and antigen sampling. He further gave instructions to increase the sampling booths in the hospitals and the sampling points in the district to keep the infection in check. He urged all the sub-divisional magistrates to establish public awareness hoardings in their respective areas to prevent Covid-19 infection. Instructions were given to make the rural people aware of the virus through MLAs, councillors, village heads, kshetra panchayat members, and gram panchayat members. He directed the chief medical officer to complete the vaccination work at the earliest while running the vaccination drive. He directed the police officers to issue challans against the people roaming without masks warning them to take action under the prescribed provisions in case they break Covid-19 guidelines again.
