The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Uttarakhand unit staged a protest outside the CBI office on Thursday against the reported arrest of Ankita Bhandari’s parents in Delhi and the alleged delay in the investigation into the case. Led by state president Uma Gaur Sisodia, the party demanded justice for Ankita and her family and an impartial investigation into the alleged VIP’s role in the case.

The party also strongly opposed the appointment of Dushyant Gautam as the Governor of Sikkim, raising concerns over questions surrounding his alleged links to the case. Party leaders demanded that no individual should be excluded from the scope of investigation because of political influence or position.

Sisodia said that the case was not just a fight for one family but also concerned the safety, dignity and justice of women in Uttarakhand. She expressed concern over the difficulties faced by Ankita’s parents while seeking justice and said that their voice should be heard.

She added that the questions raised by the public could be addressed only through a transparent and impartial investigation. The party demanded that all aspects of the case be examined and strict legal action be taken against anyone found guilty.
