Army clearing snow from Hemkund Sahib Yatra route

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Jyotirmath

To ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage to Shri Hemkund Sahib, the Army jawans are now working on a war footing to clear the route of the accumulated snow, braving the difficult mountainous terrain and the adverse climatic condition.  An Army official, engaged in the work with others, said that they are working day and night to make sure that the pilgrims are not inconvenienced. Notably, Shri Hemkund Sahib yatra will commence on May 23.

With barely three weeks left for the pilgrimage to begin, while the Army is clearing the route, the local administration is giving final touches to its preparations. “All departments are now working in concord to make things ready for the upcoming pilgrimage. Nothing is being left out as far as the safety and wellbeing of the pilgrims is concerned,” a senior administrative officer said.
