Ayurveda ensuring health of human civilisations: CM Dhami

The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Ayurveda is a unique medicinal system of the world which has been ensuring the health of human civilization since ancient times.
He was addressing the release ceremony of the proceedings of the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo here on Monday.
He said that the State government is committed to promote Ayurveda in Uttarakhand and for it one model AYUSH village is being developed in every district. He said that new Yoga and wellness centres are also being developed in the State.
The CM said that it is a matter of great pride that Uttarakhand had successfully organized the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo now the proceedings of the mega event have been released to cherish its memories and achievements. He said that this is not just a document but the essence of knowledge, experience and deep deliberation, which will play an important role in setting the direction of research, policy-making and public health in the field of Ayurveda in the coming years.
“Ayurveda not only cures external diseases but also internal disorders related to our intellect and our senses. Due to this holistic approach of Ayurveda, its acceptance is continuously increasing today. Ayurveda is the most valuable gift given to humanity,’’ he said.
The CM averred that Uttarakhand is the land of wisdom of Ayurveda and medicinal system since ancient times. He said that the medicinal herbs found in the mountainous regions have played an important role in establishing Ayurveda as the basic element of health.
He said that the ministry of AYUSH formed under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is today giving a new identity to this ancient science at the global level.
The CM said that more than 300 AYUSH-based Ayushman Arogya Kendras are operational in the State. He said that more than 70 experts are providing AYUSH consultation through the e-Sanjeevani portal. The CM added that the State government is setting up 50-bed and 10-bed AYUSH hospitals in each district.
He said that the Uttarakhand AYUSH Policy has been formulated and being implemented in the State for giving an impetus to drug manufacturing, wellness, education, research and production of medicinal plants.
The CM also released a coffee table book of the AYUSH department on the occasion.
Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairperson Kusum Kandwal, RSS Prant Pracharak Shailendra, secretary Deependra Chaudhary, Director AYUSH Vijay Jogdande and others attended the programme.
