Municipal bodies to take permission of State Govt for renaming roads, localities

 Taking a stern cognisance of the instances where the municipal bodies changed the names of localities and roads without informing the State administration, the State government has made it compulsory for them to take prior approval of the State administration for changing names.

In a letter directed to all municipal commissioners and executive officers of municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats, the Urban Development additional secretary Gaurav Kumar said that they should take prior permission of the State administration before changing the names of localities and roads in their municipal limits.
