Offers rewards to the double vaccinated during the festival season

The Dehradun district administration in association with Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) started a Covid-19 Vaccination Fair on Monday. To encourage people to take their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine during the ongoing festive season the organisers had kept the catchphrase of the fair as ‘Festivals are fun only when the second dose is done’.
The DSCL has also announced to give weekly prizes through a weekly lucky draw on October 23 and 30 and big rewards through the mega lucky draw on November 2 to draw people’s attention towards getting vaccinated before Diwali. On Monday, Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ inaugurated the Vaccination Mela in Bhimrao Ambedkar Park near Paltan Bazaar as the crowd in the area is at its peak during the festive season. The district magistrate (DM) of Dehradun and chief executive officer of DSCL, R Rajesh Kumar along with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Janmejaya Khanduri and Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Das were also present at the event.
Talking about the Covid vaccination status in the district, Kumar said that Dehradun is already 100 per cent vaccinated for the first dose but only about 50 per cent people have taken the second dose so far. “There are still around 7,11,000 people in the district who have not taken the second dose of the vaccine. We aim to make the district 100 per cent vaccinated for both doses of Covid vaccine by December and to achieve this, the administration has started this vaccination fair near Paltan Bazaar. Another fair will be initiated in Pacific Mall on Tuesday,” informed the DM. He said that people getting inoculated during this period will be eligible to get prizes like mobile phones and microwave ovens during the weekly lucky draws and big rewards like two-wheeler vehicles, refrigerators and smart televisions at the mega lucky draw on Dhanteras.
