BJP forms State-level committee to support relief efforts in Uttarkashi’s Dharali

The Bharatiya Janata Party has formed a State-level committee to support relief efforts in the disaster-affected area of Dharali in Uttarkashi. BJP State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt said that the party is working with the goal of reaching every affected individual and party workers are coordinating with government agencies to assist in the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
A 13-member committee has been constituted to aid in relief work in the affected areas. He informed that the BJP State general secretary Aditya Kothari will head the committee and its members include Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan, Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal and other leaders such as Manveer Singh Chauhan, Vijaypal Sajwan, Kedar Rawat and Rajesh Juwatha. Bhatt stated that along with government efforts, all BJP MPs, elected representatives and workers are contributing to the ongoing operations. He said that Central and State government agencies are carrying out relief work on a war footing in Dharali.
The joint efforts are focused on rescuing those stranded and gathering information about those missing or buried under debris. He informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda are continuously monitoring the situation and taking updates on the rescue efforts.
The central government is extending full support to the ongoing operations, Bhatt claimed. He added that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is leading the rescue efforts from ground zero. He said that four Lok Sabha MPs from the State also met Modi and Shah to share the situation in the disaster-hit areas. The central leadership has assured all possible support. Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta has also reached the affected area along with teams from the Border Roads Organisation and the National Highways Authority to assess the damage and review the progress of relief work.
Bhatt stated that the BJP’s State-level team will visit the disaster-hit areas to help provide essential supplies and health services to the affected residents.
