Connect hotels at religious spots with Ayurveda: Minister to department

Aysuh and Ayush Education minister, Madan Kaushik has directed the department to prepare a plan to link major hotels and Dharamshalas located in the religious spots of the State with Ayurveda. The minister gave the order while chairing a review meeting with the officers of the department at his office in Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.
The minister directed the officers to prepare such a policy which can influence the general public for connecting with Ayurveda. He said that the State government is committed to establish Ayurveda as a major resource. Kaushik said that efforts are being made to connect wellness, Yoga and Panchakarma with Block and Nyay Panchyats in the State.
In the meeting, the minister also discussed education and research activities of the Ayurveda University. He was informed that under the Ayurveda and Yunani services there are 852 hospitals, 5,491 Ayurveda and 1,226 homeopathy, 201 Yunani, 10 Siddha and 18 Naturopathy doctors. The minister directed the officers to send recruitment requisitions for filing the vacant posts of the doctors in the department.
The minister said that three government campuses, 13 district Ayurveda and Yunani service offices, 21 private colleges and 13 district Homeopathy offices are under the Ayush and Ayush Education department. He directed that a committee headed by the director general should be constituted for solving the issues concerning Ayurveda university.
The secretary Ayush Ranjana Rajguru, additional secretary VK Jogdande and other officers were present on the occasion.
